DECO Announces China’s First mmWave Wireless Connection Chip, Soon to Enter Mass Production

On 31st January 2023, the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE2023) Exhibition officially opened at the Barcelona Convention Center in Spain.

Known as the most successful audiovisual and system integration exhibition in Europe, ISE is also the largest professional audiovisual exhibition in the world, representing the highest authority in audiovisual technology in the commercial sector. This year’s exhibition gathered over a thousand exhibitors to showcase cutting-edge technologies, disruptive innovative professional audiovisual system integration solutions, and outstanding application cases across various industries.

At the exhibition, in collaboration with partner Xi’an NovaStar (booth No. 3B850), China’s leading innovative company in mmWave Wireless Connection Chips, DECO INTEGRATION TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD (hereinafter referred to as ” DECO”), officially announced that its independently developed mmWave Wireless Connection Chip, the first of its kind in China, will soon enter mass production.

Millimeter Wave means high-frequency broadband signals with wavelengths between 1mm and 10mm, corresponding to a frequency range of 28-300 GHz. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) designates this range as the Extremely High Frequency (EHF) band. The propagation characteristics of millimeter waves provide significant advantages, including wide bandwidth, high data rates, low latency, and small antenna sizes.

In recent years, millimeter-wave technology has been widely applied in radar, telecommunications, and security screening scenarios.

“Applying millimeter waves in the wireless connection field, DECO can offer various high-speed, high-frequency, and high-efficiency chip solutions for inter-device and intra-device connections,” explained Cheng Li, founder and general manager of DECO, “Taking the application of LED display as an example, LED displays are fully entering the Mini/Micro era, with higher resolution unit modules requiring larger data transmission volumes. Previous physical connectors were large, complex in design, and costly in materials. DECO’s mmWave Wireless Connection Chips are compact, capable of solving all connectivity issues with a single chip, providing ultra-high-speed data transmission, ultra-low latency, significant cost reductions, and unified interfaces for easy device connectivity with extensive coverage.

Cheng Li further revealed that DECO ‘s mmWave Wireless Connection technology features high performance, high reliability, and high cost-effectiveness. With a wireless bandwidth of up to 18Gbps and latency lower than 500ps, these chips can overcome the “inherent shortcomings” of mainstream connectors, offering an excellent alternative solution. This technology has broad application prospects in mobile phones, other consumer electronics, LED displays, automotive electronics, security monitoring, and industrial energy storage.

Deco’s flagship product entering mass production, the DK1668, was returned and debugged in January 2022. The initial batch of products will primarily be applied in the LED display and consumer electronics markets.

Examples of the application of DECO’s mmWave Wireless Connection chip in LED displays include real-time data transmission and signal communication between lamp boards and Hub boards, with ultra-high frequency, interference-free, and ultra-large data volumes without delay.

In recent years, the wireless connection market has shown compound demands in aspects such as distance, transmission volume, and security performance. Major consumer electronics giant Apple has entered the field, beginning to lay out a contactless transmission ecosystem. Currently, similar millimeter-wave chips are predominantly produced in Europe and the US with limited functionality, and no domestic companies have entered the market.

Founded in February 2021, DECO is the first domestic company to offer similar high-integration chips, occupying an early advantage and receiving substantial recognition from the capital market.

In September 2022, DECO completed a multi-million RMB Pre-A round of financing led by Junke Danmu Fund, with co-investment from Qirong Capital and Yuanqing Capital. In December 2021, DECO received angel round funding from strategic customers Xi’an NovaStar and OPPO’s Xunxing Investment.
